elcome to our website and hopefully soon on Foehr in Germany, where we recently acquired two houses in which we rent two holiday-apartments each, and here you can spend a relaxing holiday by the North Sea. When you are travelling in Germany you shouldn´t miss this beautiful island.
As new Föhrer we are very glad to be living here and hope you will share this enthusiasm. One of our houses is located in the village of Oldsum in the northwest of the island of Foehr, the other house is in Wyk.

oehr is called 'the green island' because it is relatively protected by its location in the lee of Sylt and Amrum before the tumultuous effects of the North Sea and therefore the vegetation can develop well. It is in north-south direction about 6.8 kilometers wide, in east-west direction, 12 km long and covers an area of 82.82 square kilometers.

öhr is a popular destination for holidays in Germany on the North Sea coast. From the port Wyk along the southern edge to about the middle of the west coast, there´s a 15 kilometer long sandy beach. North and northwest of the island, lies the protection zone I of the National Park Schleswig-Holstein Mudflats. Foehr has 8647 inhabitants. In the southeast of the island lies the capital Wyk, who is a nationally recognized North Sea resort. The 16 island villages spread over eleven municipalities. Most of the holiday-apartments are located in Wyk.

hese are the facts. But what makes this island so special, is outside the counting or measurable. Foehr exudes calm and serenity. Here nobody is in a hurry. And those who are willing and able to engage in that can really find themselves again. My tip: Do allow at least two weeks of vacation by the sea for this island to be effective. y the way: in all our apartments pets are welcome so you can enjoy a relaxed holiday with your dog. For dog and master (or mistress), there are enough dog beaches and little-used dirt roads for long walks.
